Accounts receivable specialist
|
Duties: |
• Works and coordinates with Team Leader in all areas of medical billing and accounts receivable
• Serves as client/patient support to assigned clients
• Receives and initiates communications from patients, insurance companies and clients
• Works necessary reports associated with month end and patient statements
• Resolves denials
• Review, prepare and submit refund requests
• Review, prepare and submit patient supplemental bills to patient (s)
• Assist with payment arrangements
• Accounts Receivable reconciliation and resolution
• Review, update patient account information
• Assists in processing credit card payments from patients
• Other projects as assigned |
Qualifications: |
Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS,ICD9 coding and CMS 1500 forms. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work with large volumes. Understands medical terminology and finance concepts; business office functions. Must be able to type 45 WPM and demonstrate proficiency in MS Office including Excel, Word, Outlook.
Must be a high school graduate or equivalent with three years previous experience in billing, preferably physician office. GE Centricity PM experience (Millbrook derivative) a plus.
