Medical chart auditor - full time or part time
Travel required |
Duties: |
-Conducts routine audits for accuracy of coding and sufficienchy of associated provider documentation to maintain best practice compliance standards.
-Conducts on site and off site pre or post charge audits on patient accounts to determine accuracy of coding
-Coordinates meetings and new or on going training with internal staff, client representatives and/or Compliance Officer
-Documents and maintains audit records and logs
•Provides professional expertise for specific coding issues
-Serves as client support onsite and via phone for personnel/providers including maintaining compliance and HIPAA standards for data integrity, regulatory inquiries, addressing special coding circumstances, and assisting the client with coding questions
-Work flow planning and coordination
-Other projects as assigned |
Qualifications: |
| Advanced degree in Healthcare or related field, bachelors degree/ RN preferred; (5) year related work experience, two (2) years of medical auditing required. Certified Coder certification required (e.g., CCS, CCS-P, CPC, RCC, ROCC) |
